cultural movement that spanned roughly the 14th to the 17th century, beginning in Florence in the Late Middle Ages and later spreading to the rest of Europe. As a cultural movement, it encompassed a resurgence of learning based on classical sources, the development of linearperspective in painting, and gradual but widespread educational reform.
this so called re birth was seen in many different aspects such as art philosopgy education architecture within others.
One of the distinguishing features of Renaissance art was its development of highly realistic linear perspective. Giotto di Bondone is credited with first treating a painting with perspective.
painters also developed other techniques, studying light, shadow, and, famously in the case of Leonardo da Vinci, human anatomy.
